秋田県を桜前線が北上し県内が桜見学でにぎわう中で、冬眠から目覚めた熊の出没が報じられるようになってきました。
当法人は2002年6月に中小企業経営者とその家族の自殺防止を目的に設立から25年目に入ります。
歳月の経過を意識しないままに時間が過ぎたように感じます。
自殺対策基本法制定の参議院会館院内集会での意見陳述に参加したこともあって、一貫して自殺対策基本法の基本理念を踏襲し、自殺総合対策大綱に忠実に自殺対策を展開してきました。
初期は中小企業経営者とその家族の支援から、多重債務などの経済問題へ、そして高齢者、若者、精神疾患の相談等と活動領域を広げ、活動範囲は全県に広がっております。
私ごとになりますが2022年に入学した東北福祉大学大学院通信制（総合福祉学研究科修士課程）を2026年3月13日に82歳で卒業いたしました。
それによって、いささかの時間的余裕ができました。
今年は自殺対策「秋田モデル」の進行状況と当法人の活動について理事長メッセーで報告いたします。

Chairman’s Message
As the cherry blossom season arrives in Akita Prefecture and many people enjoy hanami, reports of bears emerging from hibernation have also begun to appear.
Our organization, the NPO Kumo no Ito (The Spider’s Thread), was established in June 2002 with the aim of preventing suicide among small and medium-sized business owners and their families. We are now entering our 25th year. Looking back, it feels as though time has passed almost unnoticed.
Having had the opportunity to present my views at a meeting of the House of Councillors during the enactment of the Basic Act on Suicide Countermeasures, we have consistently carried out our activities in line with its principles, and in accordance with the General Principles of Suicide Prevention Policy in Japan.
Over time, our activities have expanded beyond supporting business owners and their families to addressing economic issues such as multiple debts, as well as providing consultation services for older adults, young people, and individuals facing mental health challenges. Our work now extends throughout the entire prefecture.
On a personal note, I completed a distance-learning Master’s program in Welfare Psychology at the Graduate School of Social Welfare, Tohoku Fukushi University, graduating on March 13, 2026, at the age of 82, after enrolling in 2022. This has allowed me a little more time to devote to our mission.
In this message, I would like to report on the progress of the “Akita Model” for suicide prevention, as well as the activities of our organization.
